Hey Guys, Sorry I haven't been posting...Been busy with school. Well here is a story I had to write. It took me a while, but I wrote it with joy. Enjoy
“WOOOOOOOOT!!!!” “We’re going on an RV trip, we’re going on an RV trip!” I sang while doing a little dance. “Oh, I need to go pack, and get Greg ready. Greg is our Greyhound. We are leaving tomorrow morning right after breakfast. I ran upstairs and packed my coolest RV wild mountain shirts, some hunter green shorts, my sneakers, my flash light, hat and pocket knife. After that I went downstairs and brushed Greg so he would look nice for our RV trip and put a bandana around his neck. I went into the living room and put in a movie about “What To Do When You Are In Bad Situations While Camping.” It showed wild life, what to do when there is a storm, and what to do if you get lost. Then it was time to go to bed.You always want to have a lot of rest before the first day of an RV trip. I fell asleep within minutes.
I woke up excited. I threw on some of my favorite RV trip clothes and went downstairs. My mom and dad were already downstairs preparing breakfast. You always want to have a big breakfast so you will have lots of energy during the trip. I took a plate of eggs, and ate them slowly. The slower you eat, the fuller you will be. After breakfast we made sure we had everything we needed to take on the trip. Then we packed the car, and we were on our way. We played some music and games. After a while I dozed off. When I woke up we were entering a place that said “Welcome To River’s Ledge.”
About 10 minutes later we found our camp. We parked, and took out our tent and BBQ. Quickly I set up the tent, and put the blow up beds inside. When my parents were preparing lunch I told them I was going to go exploring. I went all around and found some pretty cool stuff. I found a park, and some wild life trails. But the coolest thing of all was a river I found. It was long, and had dark waters, with fish, and all kinds of animals inside. I sat down at the river’s edge and dangled my feet in the water. Mmmm.... That was refreshing. I splashed around a little, then I went scouting along the river side. About 5 minutes after I started scouting something caught my eye. I waited for the current to bring it in a little more so I could see it clearer. Once it got closer I realized what it was. It was a soaked brown teddy bear. I decided to bring it in. I took a long stick and pulled the teddy bear to the shore. Once I got the teddy bear in, I took it back to the camp. We decided to go ask the ranger what to do with it.
We walked for about 10 minutes until we came upon the ranger station. We asked him if he knew who the teddy bear belonged to. He said that he might know, so he started telling us a story about a family that was here a few days ago. “Three days ago, there was a family with a little 5 year old daughter. So they came and they checked in, and asked if there was anything that we recommended. We said that the paddle boat path on the river was very adventurous and fun. They said Thank You and that they would probably check it out. When we saw them leave, I noticed that the little girl was holding a teddy bear just like the one you found,” He continued, “That day they went on the paddle boat path. The river splits into two sides. One is dangerous and has a sign that says “Warning: Dangerous Path, Do Not Take.” They might have not seen that warning...So they continued on, and the water got rougher. They tried turning back, but the current was too strong. Some of our other visitors said they saw the family going down the wrong way. The visitors tried yelling to them but the water was making lots of noise, and they couldn’t hear them. After a while going down the dangerous path there is a waterfall... A big waterfall...The visitors ran back here to tell us, and we were on our way to them as they fell down the steep waterfall... They didn’t get hurt too bad, but they had some broken bones, and other stuff. That teddy bear must have belonged to the little girl.” He said sadly. “Do you know which hospital they were put in? And do you know what her name is?” I asked. “Ya, the ‘Western Hospital’ On Eve Str and her name is Lilly Grandof.” He said. “Thanks.” I told him.
We decided that we would go to the hospital since it was close to the camp site. In 15 minutes we were there. We asked the nurse at the counter which room Lilly Grandof was in. She told us 145 on the second floor. We found the stairs and went up them, and searched for number 145. Finally after searching for a while we found it. We knocked, then went inside. We saw a little girl lying in a bed with cuts and bruises. We guessed that was her. “Hi” I said trying to not stare at the big cut she had on her arm. “Is my mommy coming?” She asked weakly. “We don’t know..Sorry. But I do know who is here already,” I said. I took out her teddy bear from behind my back. “Teddy!” She said excitedly. She reached for him. I gave him to her. “What’s his name?” I said trying to act like I was interested. “Billy.” She said smiling. “Awesome, I always wanted to name my teddy bear Billy!” I said laughing. She giggled. “Thank you.” She said. “You’re welcome.” I said smiling. It was dark when we got back to the camp site, but I sure got the adventure I was looking for.
