Journeys of Strave
Episode One: The Quest
"Sire! There is a young man here to speak to you!" "What is his name?" "I'm afraid he did not say, my lord." "Alright. Send him in!" Several minutes passed before the man came before King Glorian. "Who art thou?" the King asked the man, "I am an explorer, sire. I have wandered the world, and I have seen more than your entire kingdom has." the young man, wearing tattered clothes answered. "And what do you wish from me?" "Only a quest, my lord. I have been places very, very far from here, and perhaps, I was wondering if you have any tasks for me. For I have run out of ways to earn gold, I am in need of new supplies, such as leather armor and a few other necessities needed in the wilderness."
King Glorian thought for a moment. He decided on giving this man a fair task, for the King was no tyrant. "If you can travel from my kingdom Grenthale, the full journey to my brother's kingdom, the marvelous city of Nethreal, deliver this message." The king told his scribe what to give the man. The scribe quickly wrote it on his scroll and handed it to the explorer. Without even a peep, the man threw the scroll into his satchel. "What about payment, should I complete the quest?" the explorer asked, "I will give you enough gold to buy all the exploration supplies you need. Visit the local blacksmith, and tell him I had sent you. He will craft you an iron dagger, for you may need it travelling through Dengwood. The man tipped his cap and turned to leave. "But wait..." the King halted the man, "what is your name?" the explorer, without turning around, mumbled, "Strave, your majesty."~
I am going to at least try to get into this story. Please tell me if you like it in the comments, so I know if I should continue.

How I write
I write stories as I go along. That's why my last story, Rise of the Nepithromac, was so terrible I didn't even want to finish it. This story was originaly going to be about a shipwrecked man who had to survive against zombies or something. As I reworked it, it turned into a peasant asking to food... then eventually into an Adventurer searching the world for a task that he may complete to earn some gold. I hope you enjoy and would like me to work on this. The first chapter is only meant as a preview of what the rest of the story will be like.
