I love, love, love flowers. They are pretty and make every outfit look awesome. What better way to show my affection for flowers by creating a tropical flower headband! =)

items you need: → a headband → decorative flowers* → glue gun and superglue → scissors *the flowers I used to make this headband came from Michaels craft store. There are probably many more options in other stores, so shop around if you’d like! You definitely don’t have to limit yourself to the supplies I used – let those creative juices run! Just remember that if you use a different type of accessory to put on your headband, you may have to alter my instructions to fit your needs. |
- The flowers I use open by pulling apart a piece of cardboard away from the stick. Once you open up the flower, glue it together. You can hook it around the stick, but gluing allows it to stay snug.
- Cut around the cardboard and stick using your scissors. Snip as close to the cardboard as possible.
- Very gently pull both sides around to create a whole flower. You are most likely going to, as I did, crush the paper petals a bit, but don’t worry. As long as you’re gentle, the damage shouldn’t be too bad and you’ll be able to fix it later.
- Use the glue gun to permanently keep the flower together – be careful not to burn yourself, since the paper is thin.
- You can use the toothpick that was originally on the flower to straighten out the petals.
- Now for the easy part! Add a nice amount of superglue onto a headband and apply your flower. Give the glue at least 30 seconds to dry.
- And now you have a beautiful flower headband, perfect to wear at the beach!
Note - I know that directions can be quite confusing, so here are photos to help guide you through the process:
