Two days ago, 3/2/11 we (By WE I mean my mom, Sol and I) found this beautiful cocoon that was bright green and had gold rims. When Ben was younger he got a butterfly net/cage. So we got that and put the cocoon inside. We doubted that it would hatch. Anyway, still, with a tiny, tiny hope everyday we would go outside and look to see if it had hatched. Early this morning Sol went outside to check if it hatched.. No. After breakfast he went to check again! He came out scream excitedly "It hatched it hatch!" I ran from the other room outside  and looked. There was a beautiful Monarch Butterfly. We stayed there for 10 minutes just looking at the beautiful thing. Finally we went inside to do a little homework.. I could't really think straight. I was really excited about the butterfly. So I went outside. My mom came also. She opened the net/cage door thingy and gave it some flowers. It would wake around with it beautiful wings tilting that way and the other, not so strong yet. We went inside to do more homework leaving the net/cage door opened so it could go outside etc. Still I couldn't think about school.  After about 5 minutes I went outside to move it out of the sun. When I started moving the chair it was on, all of sudden it opened it wings and started flying away! I ran to the door and told me mom. She came to the door and we watched it fly away happily. I was kinda happy, kinda disappointed. When I saw her fly away I was thinking " Maybe she will come back and lay her eggs/calipers, who will grow up and make a cocoon and the whole story will happen again.. It's been about 20 minutes since she flew away... I'm gonna miss her, but MAN that was an awesome experience... Um.. I'm going to go see if she came back for a visit! BYEEE!
